Procurement
+ Selection Process for Contractors and Suppliers
Maritime Iron encourages all businesses interested in future contract and procurement opportunities to include your company on the List of Interested Contractors and Suppliers (LICS) through our self-registration portal (below).
The registration process enables Maritime Iron to understand the range of interested contracting and service providers for upcoming opportunities during our construction and operation phases.
+ Important Information
The LICS does not replace or affect the bidding procedures in place for procurement. Businesses are still required to respond to Expression of Interest (EOI) solicitations and to compete based on established bid criteria. The phased approach undertaken for major procurement and contracting packages is outlined below.
Maritime Iron has a contracting and procurement selection process that results in the award of business to contractors and service providers that:
- Have appropriate health and safety systems to reflect the services being provided.
- Deliver overall value including cost competitiveness, timely delivery, top quartile quality.
- Provide full and fair opportunity for regional and Aboriginal suppliers.
Business opportunities exist for a wide range of qualified suppliers through:
- Direct contract and direct supply to Maritime Iron.
- Subcontractors and suppliers to the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) / EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) or other major contractors and suppliers.
Tendering Process
For major procurement and contracting packages, Maritime Iron will use the following selection process:
+ Step 1: List of Interested Contractors and Suppliers (LICS)
The supply community can register their general interest through the Maritime Iron website. This information will be used as one source of potential suppliers and contractors by Maritime Iron and its main contractors.
+ Step 2: Package specific Expressions of Interest (EOI)
Package specific EOIs may be issued for large packages. These package specific EOIs will be listed on the Maritime Iron website if deemed applicable. Following the Expression of Interest stage, Maritime Iron may issue a more detailed Bidder Selection Questionnaire to potential bidders to assess their relative qualifications against particular criteria e.g., HSE (health, safety and environment), technical, financial, and experience level.
+ Step 3: Response to a Request for Proposal (RFP)
Maritime Iron will invite selected service providers or contractors from the Bidder Selection Process to submit proposals against a Request for Proposal (RFP) document. These proposals will then be assessed against pre-determined evaluation criteria leading to selection of a preferred bidder. Following an approval and clarification/negotiation stage, a contract is then awarded to the successful bidder.
In addition to major contracts directly with Maritime Iron, the Project will have numerous sub-contract and supply needs that will range in scope and size.
