United States of America
Maritime Iron is currently evaluating various possible locations in the US for this project.
Key criteria for a new site include:
Nearby power plant to generate power for process duties;
Existing port facilities to minimize product handling and logistic costs;
Land availability in proximity to power plant and port facilities; and
Positive business environment for the iron and steel industry.
During the assessment of the alternatives the benefits resulting from primary criteria above will be analyzed. It is critical that the project location not only satisfies economic requirements, but also considers the jurisdictional fit such as the iron/steel industry, acceptance, the level of collaboration with local and state agencies, as well as the clarity of the project approval process.
